Hope Turner sold this home at 405 Powder Mill Road last month for $1.65 million. Her ex-husband, Dollar General heir and music entrepreneur Cal Turner III had paid $1.7 million in January 2008 to buy the Hillwood-area house under the terms of their divorce, which also featured a $10 million lump-sum payment to Hope Turner.

Supersize us! Leading this month’s list of top-dollar home sales are three residences that encompass some 31,000 square feet between them. That’s more than two thirds of an acre of indoor space.
We’re talking big houses. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Highest-priced single-family home transactions recorded in Davidson and neighboring counties in June 2010, ranked by dollar value:
1. 459 Canterbury Rise, Franklin, 37067
Buyers: Thomas R. and Patricia G. Petty
Sale price: $2.538 million
Seller: Cadence Bank N.A.
Seller’s agent: Alison Davis (Keller Williams)
Buyers’ agent: Gail Wallin Johnson (Crye-Leike)
Homebuilder Kenny Hale put this property, located in the Avalon development, on the market in May 2008 at $3.5 million. Two years later, the bank that foreclosed on the unsold spec home sells it for almost a million bucks less than the original asking price.
The 22-room home encompasses more than 10,000 square feet of living space, including seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and three half-baths, a salt-water pool, travertine flooring and granite counters.
2. 1216 Waterstone Blvd., Franklin, 37069

Buyers’ agent: Janet T. Jones (Worth Properties)
First listed at $2.5 million, this 11,200-square-foot home in the enclave of Laurelbrooke spent 11 months on the market.
The Pacconis appear to be new in town. As of a few years ago, they were living in the Palm Beach, Fla., area, and Tom Pacconi was involved in the family business of producing Christmas ornaments and other collectibles.

Another Laurelbrooke estate here, though a mere four-digit affair at 9,600 square feet. Bender was a seller in last month’s Headline Homes, as he let go of a 68-acre equestrian spread in Leiper’s Fork for a mere $4 million.
